In response to another motion, the Parliamentary Secretary stated that action had been taken against people involved in a mishap during the cleanliness drive in the Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi. He said that private parties had been entrusted with cleanliness operations in hospitals, hoping that the situation would soon improve in this regard. The parliamentary secretary, in response to another motion, said that there was no truth in the allegation about 'synthetic milk' being sold in Lahore.
Commenting on matters relating to Local Government and Community Development, he said that between January and August 2009, profiteers had been fined Rs 4,246,100. He said as many as 2,246 FIRs had been registered against shopkeepers in 2009 and subsequently, 158 shopkeepers had been fined on spot. He said that during Eidul Azha, 14 sales points had been approved in nine towns of Lahore. He said as per requirement of solid waste management, containers were placed at different places in Lahore.
